How to Make Your Son Sing Soprano
(also titled: My God the Lady Behind us has Some Major "Arthritis" -- I know two people who will totally get that joke)

I decided to take Tristan to Six Flags today as a beginning of the summer celebration. I thought this theme park trip would be fun because it was close in proximity and we hadn't been there in a few years (plus I found tickets for half-price). According to Mapquest, it would take us a little over an hour to reach our destination.
Guess how long it took us?
Go ahead....
Three hours later we arrived at Six Flags.
Stop laughing.
First mistake? The side trip to Baltimore (I continued on I-95 N instead of I-495N to I-495S -- figure that one out -- those are the directions). Then, when we found our way back onto I-495S, we missed the BIG HUGE SIGNS for our exit and ended up in Virginia on Route 7 by Tyson's corner. As we made our way back towards 495N (basically starting the entire trip over), I had this conversation with Tristan:
Me: Ok, I have a REALLY GOOD FEELING about this!!! We are going to make it!!!!! We will get to our destination!!!!!!!
Tristan: Yeah... uhhh MOM! You just turned on to 495 going south!
Me: DAMMIT!
After getting off of the interstate and back onto Route 7 and then making the correct turn onto 495N, I'm happy to report that we made it to Six Flags. In other words, we saw the BIG HUGE SIGNS.
Now, onto the picture...
Ok.. maybe not quite. Six Flags will be receiving an angry letter from me. Three major roller coasters were out of service. When we rode the Batwing, we had to wait in line forever because only one set of cars was running. The other set wasn't fixed and ready until we were in our set of cars, waiting to take off and save Gotham City from evildoers (I'm happy to report that we accomplished our mission).
Next? Picture time!! We rode my new favorite roller coaster, Superman Ride of Steel. Three times! (Oh but first I must mention that the ride broke between the second and third time so we had a short wait. ) I learned that after the last time through, I was quite ready to be done for the day with roller coasters or any other ride. Whew. Getting older sucks. Anyway, the picture was taken at the end of our second ride. Tristan and I were laughing hard at the arthritic lady behind us. She screamed and laughed and yelled and cheered the entire time . I do want you to notice she's really in the car behind us, but somehow her chest and Tristan's head look like they connected. Seriously, I wouldn't have been surprised if it had actually happened. Now please look where the harnesses were unfortunately placed and you will understand the title of this post. Poor Tristan. Also! You'll never guess where I was hiding my glasses!
Despite the long trip up, the broken rides and my really nasty blister (I will spare you from my icky blister picture) we had a really good time. And we ended the day with chili dogs.
