Hail to the Redskins!
Today, my friend and I went here: The Marshall Home to cheer on another friend who was in a drawing (a one in 30 chance) to win this townhome. It was a big event with lots of food, way too many people, a few Redskins cheerleaders, Redskins Radio DJs and former Redskins player, Joe Jacoby. Not being football fans, we had no CLUE who this guy was. In fact, in her football ignorance, our townhouse finalist friend kept referring to him as, "Joe Lobotomy," which made all of us giggle hysterically.
While we were there we had a chance to enter a drawing for one of three Redskins gift baskets. We dutifully put our names in the box and after the townhome drawing, which unfortunately my friend didn't win, the Van Metre folks and Joe Lobotomy raffled off the baskets. Guess who won a gift basket full of Redskins gear even though she's not a Superfan?

My favorite part of the gift basket has to be the Redskins keychain which plays a rather LOUD and ROUSING rendition of, "Hail to the Redskins." It's fun to play when you are in the mood to dance around the parking lot of a somewhat upscale and crowded town center.
I'll wait and wear the shirts next fall -- you know, when the Redskins actually win a game or something. =p
