Wii Have a Winner?

Wii are the Champions?

Wii Stood Outside this Morning in 27 Degree Temperatures for 2 Hours to get one of These Tickets?

yeah.

And don't Wii look tired and very cold?

Yesterday a friend who works at Circuit City called me up to say that the store near us would most likely be getting a shipment of Wiis today - anywhere between 12-20 units. He suggested that I be in front of the store by 7:00 AM for the 10:00 AM opening. I was there by 6:30 AM and the line began to form around 7:20. Did I mention that it was REALLY REALLY REALLY COLD????? I was number 4 in a line that ended up to be over 30 people long. At one point, as I felt my toes going numb and my face falling off, I wondered if the friendly people around me would go for a long, warm group hug. :-p

The first 6 of us in line stood and chatted for over an hour before I called Tony and woke him up and said, "OMGOMGOMGit'scoldbringmemybootsmytoesarefallingoffOMGOMGOMGAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" By the time he arrived (a little after 9:00 AM), two Circuit City Employees had finally come out and issued tickets to the first 11 people in line. Yup, there were only 11 units. We also were able to reserve extra controllers and nunchuks. I grabbed my ticket as Tony arrived with my boots and I ran to the car to warm up. As soon as I thawed out, we headed to Target to buy coffee and wander around for an hour. Oh, what a warm, blessed hour it was.

Finally, we headed back to the store a few minutes before opening time. I may have skipped there. In my fuzzy boots. We were let in and then were called up in order to receive our heavenly Wii gifts. Our joyful experience was marred briefly by a bit of nastiness when one man, who hadn't waited in line or braved the cold hours before, but who decided he was entitled to a Wii because he arrived right before the store it opened, decided to "report the employees for their behavior." I whipped around in surprise and blurted out, "Were you outside before 8:00 like the rest of us?" He didn't appreciate my question and told me to stay out of it because he was talking about "Ummm..ummm ANOTHER PRODUCT" and stomped out of the store. Oh well. :-p

Wii've been having lots of fun today. Redskins stuff yesterday, games today. What a crazy Wiikend!

And now it's snowing!
